COMPETITIVE AIRCRAFT ARE IN GREAT DEMAND FOR AIR CARRIAGE IN RUSSIA

    The growth of volume passenger carriages have been significantly increased during current year. The growth rate is 23,3%, while 34,6%-on international airlines, 12,3%-on domestic. About it was informed today in course his business trip to the Ulyanovsk aircraft factory ZAO " Aviastar-SP " by the Minister of Transport. According to the Minister, growth of demand for air carriages has increased competition between airlines and, as result needs for operation of competitive aircraft.
    The fulfillment of  the planned volume of the air carriage by airlines till 2010 in whole it needs reequipment of
aircraft fleet 615 long-distance and regional aircraft and 350 helicopters of different types, taking into account increasing withdrawal of the obsolete aircraft fleet  and planned implementation of the ICAO restrictions at this period in Russian Federation for pilotage accuracy, air noise and harmful agent emission during air flight.
    Such development of the aircraft fleet will provide to 2010 increase part of the up-dated aircraft in structure its carriage capacity modern aircraft of different types to 60% and part of aircraft which meeting ICAO equipments to 85 %. It is necessary for proper satisfaction of demand for air carriage, development of regional carriage, improvement of air transport activity  and reasonable cost of air transport, essential reduction of  harmful influence the environment.
    In the course of reequipment of aircraft fleet with modern types of aircraft and helicopters of all classes, significant part is being intended for TU-204 aircraft, produced by ZAO " Aviastar-SP ". Among long-distance aircraft of the new generation , operated by russian airlines 40% are Tu-204. In 2002-2003 russian airlines bought 7 TU-204 aircraft, including
6 aircraft on leasing terms and 1 aircraft on credit. In 2005 four aircraft are planned to be bought and in 2008 - 25 Tu-204 aircraft, - said the Transport Minister of Russian Federation.
