At CSC 'Aviastar-SP' and in New Town Day of Air Fleet of Russia was celebrated.

The holiday starts on August, 13 with the celebration of the best workers. Hundreds of the best aircraft producers were given the incentives.

On August, 14 'Aviastar' was visited by a lot of people. Its doors were open for everyone who wanted to visit the biggest aircraft factory to see the way of producing of well-known heavy transport An-124-100 'Ruslan' and graceful Tu-204 family aircraft.

The holiday continued on Sunday: the air show, concert and colourful fireworks - the culmination of the holiday - were held despite strong wind.

A lot of divisions of the factory did much to arrange the holiday. The administration of the region, city and district paid much attention to the important event. Boris Zotov, the Chairman of Legislative Assembly in Ulyanovsk, thanked Victor Mikhailov, General Director of CSC 'Aviastar', for the staff of the factory, which produce wonderful aircraft, try to develop their production, show high professional skill, tenacity and courage.

On August,11 Mr. Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of Russian Federation, visited Ulyanovsk. During his business trip the Minister visited the CSC '' Aviastar-SP " and an erection site of a new bridge over the Volga, then meeting was held regarding erection of bridges in Russia. That was reported by the Mozaika News Agency.

During the press-conference the results of the business trip were summarized and Levitin pointed out two main issues. He said that the Ulyanovsk aircraft factory is in good working shape and able to fulfill it's customers' orders. However, only production of 8-9 aircraft a year will allow the plant to remain in proper working condition. Now the Russian government is developing the mechanism of rendering assistance to aircraft factories. The Minister said that he had a package of orders for production of 20 aircraft Tu-204 by 2008. Therefore the airline customers and the CSC "Aviastar -SP'' will continue discussions on this matter in a more detailed way.

According to Mr. Levitin the bridge in Ulyanovsk is a unique construction project for Russia and requires a lot of budget funds. The Minister assured the audience that in 2005 2 blln rub. will be allocated from the federal budget for further building of the bridge. The issue of future financial backing will be settled in short time in Moscow.

Mr. Nikolay Seryogin, Deputy Director of the Transport Ministry Road Policy Department said that for the last five years there had been no infringement of spending the money intended for the bridge erection in Ulyanovsk region.

August,14 - Day of Open Doors at the CSC 'Aviastar-SP'. August,15 - Day of Air Fleet of Russia. On August,13-15 celebrations of Air Fleet Day took place at the CSC 'Aviastar-SP'. Traditionally, together with this holiday the aircraft producers and the residents of Ulyanovsk celebrated another spectacular holiday - Day of Open Doors. It was thought as a means of promotion of achievements of modern aircraft and also as a means of attraction of young generation to the profession of aircraft builders. As practice shows, visitors from other cities are eager to visit the largest aircraft manufacturing facility famous for it's well-known An-124-100 'Ruslan' aircraft and a family of Tu-204 airliners. A special issue of the factory newspaper 'Start' had been prepared by the press center. The issue was done in four colours and told us about the best departments and the people working at the enterprise. Their achievements were highly appreciated by the General Director. Many of the workers were awarded with money bonuses, the portraits of the others were displayed at the Board of Honour, which is to be renewed every year. The gates of the CSC 'Aviastar-SP' were open on August,14 from 10 till 14. The guests could easily visit production buildings to see with their own eyes the "birth" of the aircraft the Russian aircraft industry is proud of. Various shops were open and music played by the factory radio station 'Progress', amateur performances took place. At the same time competitions in chess, football, tennis, athletics, aircraft remote control models competitions were held. On August, 13 during lunch hours there was a congratulation on the Day by the factory executives and in the evening from 16 till 17 - a meeting and a concert took place in concert hall 'Ruslan'. On August,15 there was the Air Fleet Day. From 10 till 12 a thrilling air show was held in the New Town district ; 12-12.30 - entertainment program in 'Pribrezhny Park'; 14-16.00 - there were go-cart races; 18-20.30 - disco. The day was ended with spectacular fireworks at 21.00.
