MAKS-2005 RESULTED IN SIGNING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF TWO MORE TU-204-300 FOR “VLADIVOSTOK AIR”

    At International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2005) in Zhukovsky, “Aviastar-SP” Company represents a new Tu-204-300 aircraft, serial number 039. It is the third aircraft for “Vladivostok Air” airline. The two first ones, delivered in May-June, are already operated on domestic and foreign routes, performing flights to Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Abakan, South Sakhalinsk, Seoul. As “Vladivistok Air” notified “Aviastar-SP”, in 2006 the air track of Tu-204-300 is to include Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Ekaterinburg and other large cities of Russia as well as Niigata, Narita, Osaka (Japan), Pusan (Korea), Pekin, Dalan (China).
    According to Victor Kouznetsov, Marketing and Sales Director, aviation specialists take a great interest in the aircraft at MAKS-2005. There are always a lot of visitors by the liner. On 16 August, it was visited by 7 delegations including those of China, Iran and Minister of Defense of Ghana. 10 more delegations are to visit the aircraft on 17 August.
    16 August, signing the Agreement between “Ilyushin Finance” Company, “Vladivostok Air” airline and “Aviastar-SP” Company for delivery of two Tu-204-300 for “Vladivostok Air” airline took place. The Agreement was signed by Yury Ostrovsky, IFC Technical Director, Vladimir Saybel, Director General of “Vladivostok Air” airline and Valery Savotchenko, Executive Director of CSC ”Aviastar-SP”.

15 YEARS SINCE MAIDEN FLIGHT OF TU-204, PRODUCED IN ULYANOVSK

    17 August 1990, the Tu-204 manufactured at Ulyanovsk-based aircraft production plant performed its maiden flight. The aircraft, registration number 64003, spent 30 minutes in the sky.
    In spite of Russian industry slump and owing to enormous efforts of Ulyanovsk aircraft manufacturers, “Tupolev” Design Bureau, Perm Engine Company and airborne equipment engineers, 29 aircraft were produced for the benefit of mankind and delivered to Russian and Egyptian airlines for operation.
    According to Sergey Milyukov, Aviastar-SP Chief Engineer, the enterprise continuously carries on aircraft improvements and innovative research of the model meeting the latest market requirements. As a result-creation of the whole Tu-204 aircraft family responsive to the most captious customer’s needs.
    These are Tu-204-100, Tu-204-120 passenger aircraft (powered with Rolls-Royce engines), comfortable Tu-204-300 Universal, Tu-204C, Tu-204-120C freighters and export versions of Tu-204-120CE.
    The first version looks like “ugly duckling” against the back-cloth of new modifications, but it was this very model which marked the beginning of Tu-204 family.
    Nowadays, Tu-204 aircraft are in service with airlines of Minvody, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Moscow, Cairo and Liege. Its air routes linked up Russian cities and capitals of Western Europe, popular Spanish, Egyptian and Turkish resorts. Tu-204-300 aircraft was the first to connect Seoul, Saint-Petersburg and Moscow with comfortable airlift. Tu-204 cargo aircraft is operated on routes of Belgium, Iceland, Swiss, Norway, France, Denmark and perform freightage between China, Russia and Western Europe.
    Since the maiden flight day, the Tu-204 performed more than 38 thousand flights, spent over 98 thousand hours in the sky, transported more than 4 million passengers and 250 thousand tons of freight all over the world (including Antarctica and South America).
    The visitors of MAKS-2005 have the opportunity to get acquainted with the “youngest member” of this glorious family-Aviastar-SP Company represents its new Tu-204-300 airliner, certified in May. It is the third aircraft manufactured in Ulyanovsk in 2005. The first 2 ones were delivered to “Vladivostok Air” airline in May-June and are successfully operated on domestic and foreign routes.

FLIGHT TESTS OF ONE MORE TU-204-300 AIRCRAFT HAVE BEGUN AT ULYANOVSK-BASED AIRCRAFT PLANT

        On the 4th of August Tu-204-300 aircraft, S\N 039, manufactured at Ulyanovsk-based aircraft plant CSC “Aviastar-SP”, made its first test flight. It performed the flight program completely. On the 26th of July the airliner arrived at the flight-test center where it underwent all necessary ground tests. After Tu-204-300 carries out the scheduled flights it will fly to Zhukovsky, situated near Moscow, to present CSC “Aviastar-SP” at MAKS-2005. The aircraft meets all effective and perspective ICAO and Eurocontrol requirements, including noise level and toxic emission requirements (Chapter 4, Annex 16). Thus, the aircraft is able to perform flights on any international routes without restriction. Tu-204-300 provides passengers with maximum level of comfort. This is the third aircraft, manufactured for “VladivostokAir” airline, which has already been operating two Tu-204-300 on domestic and international routes. Ulyanovsk aircraft builders plan to deliver one more, the forth, Tu-204-300 aircraft to the customer by the end of the year.
