CONTRACT FOR THE TU-204-100 AIRCRAFT DELIVERY TO IRAN MIGHT BE SIGNED WITHIN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS
As
reports an international technical cooperation field source, the contract for
five 210-seat TU-204-100 aircraft delivery is to be signed within the next few
months.
Under the terms of the contract the TU-204-100 extra delivery
option is possible; still the general demand of Iran for the TU-204-100 is about
20-30 machines.
“The contract and the option provide the delivery of the passenger version; the
cargo/passenger and freighter are not stipulated yet,”- says the interviewee.
Previous negotiations on the possibility of TU-204-100 license manufacturing in
Iran are canceled- in the meantime Iran aircraft industry is not ready for such
sophisticated production.
In March 2004, during the visit of Hassan Hajalifard, the
Head of Iran Civil Aviation Association, to Russia a preliminary agreement was
achieved. It provides the sale of the first lot of the TU-204-100 middle-range
passenger aircraft fitted by home-made equipment and powered by SP-90A engines.
This agreement, signed on 31 March 2004 in Moscow, includes the questions
concerning aircraft equipment and interior, cockpit and engine layout,
maintenance and airworthy support system, flight and maintenance personnel
training.
The cockpit is to undergo changes-it is to be “English”- all
instrument reading is to be produced in standard form adopted in England. The
publications are also to be in English. As expected, in case of conclusion of
the contract, maintenance and overhaul services together with Iran airlines
flight and maintenance personnel’s training are to be provided.

GUARANTEE JOB FOR FOUR MONTHS AND A HALF
At
the beginning of the year a very pleasant event for several main shops of CSC
“Aviastar-SP” took place. On the second day after New Year holidays two more
An-124 aircraft, belonged to Volga-Dnepr airline, were placed to the aircraft
fixtures of the final assembly shop.
Thus, all three vacant places, used for Ruslan aircraft production are occupied. More over, now there are three more
An-124 aircraft in the package of orders. Now an active work is being carried
out on the territory of the flight-test centre.
As the factory has accepted a big volume of orders, - comments Nikolay Sergeev, the head of the final assembly shop, - employees of assembly shops will have work for four months and a half. It’s not only a pleasant event for us but also a great responsibility.
Material well-being of CSC “Aviastar-SP” stuff depends on the results of new orders. That’s why workers and specialists got down to installing the most modern avionics equipment on aircraft at once, and modifying the aircraft in order to prolong the aircraft’s service life and fulfilling other technological operations, required by the customers and included into the rigid production schedule.
TU-204-300 AIRCRAFT WAS GIVEN THE INDEX FOR SERIAL PRODUCTION
From 15 to 17 December at CSC “Aviastar-SP” the enlarged meeting of the interdepartmental commission was held. The complete package of technical documentation for TU-204-300 aircraft serial production at Ulyanovsk factory was discussed. The commission of 17 members was headed by Vladimir Savin, the chairman of the independent inspectorate of the Aviation Committee (AR IAC). The specialists from JSC “Tupolev”, the independent inspectorates of JSC “Tupolev”, the producer-factory and other organizations were in the commission.
The presented documentation was given the index allowing serial production of TU-204-300 aircraft at CSC “Aviastar-SP”. It means that CSC “Aviastar-SP” has the full right of serial production and sales of one more promising aircraft type from ‘Tupolev’ aircraft family. It became possible due to great common efforts at TU-204-300 creation of both Ulyanovsk aircraft builders and JSC “Tupolev” Design Bureau, and successful completion of one of the stage of the new aircraft’s certification tests. The aircraft showed the high level of reliability, economical efficiency and excellent flight performances.
