On 27 June, Tu-204-300 aircraft with serial
number 038, operated by “Vladivostok-Avia” airline, carried out its maiden
direct flight from Vladivostok to Moscow. It is the first Russian airliner,
which was certified in full compliance with Russian aviation rules AR-25 being
identical with European ones JAR-25.
Though the new airliner had been flying during 9 hours
without enroute stops for refueling, it saved more than 4 tons of fuel. The
aircraft arrived at Vnukovo airport in time. The cabin is equipped with
individual entertainment system, providing in-flight film watching, information
about the airline and main flight data (altitude, speed, aircraft coordinates).
The installed forward view camera transmits the view from the cockpit. In
economy class cabin displays are arranged in every other 3 seat rows. These
technical innovations allow to make the trip more enjoyable. According to the
passengers, many of them “failed to notice how the trip time had flied”. The
specialists consider “this flight to be a new page in the history of Russian
aviation - the beginning of operation of up-to-date, world competitive
Russian-made aircraft produced by Ulyanovsk-based aviation plant” Thus, Russian
aviation industry is sure to revive.
The next day, on 28 June, another Tu-204-300 (serial number
026) made its maiden flight to Moscow. By the end of the year Ulyanovsk-based
aviation plant “Aviastar-SP” is to provide the fleet of “Vladivostok-Avia”
airline with two more cost-effective, comfortable and promising airliners of
