MESSAGE OF THANKS FROM THE SIBERIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE

    JSC “Tupolev”, the Siberian Research Institute and CSC “Aviastar-SP” continue modifying TU-204 family aircraft and bringing service life to the project level according to the special aircraft tests.
    A.N. Seryoznov, Member of the Academy, Head of the Institute, thanked Viktor Mikhailov, CSC “Aviastar-SP” General Director and specialists who performed their work quickly and in a proper way. CSC “Aviastar-SP” specialists modified aggregates of TU-204 aircraft No. 005 in order to continue tests in the Siberian Research Aviation Institute named after Chaplygin. Except line maintenance, a group of specialists under the direction of M.V. Heyfets, Leading Designer of Experimental Design Bureau “Tupolev”, performed work on engine pylons successfully. This allowed to speed up service life tests and execute a state contract in time. The contract stipulates that TU-204 family aircraft service life be brought to the project level – 45 000 hours, 25 000 flights by 2006 as well as experimental buffer stock be created in order to bring aircraft service life to a higher project level – 60 000 hours, 45 000 flights.

REGULAR MEETING OF AVIASTAR-SP BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS TAKEN PLACE

    Regular meeting of Aviastar-SP Board of Directors has been held. Election of Chairman of the Board and its Deputy was on the agenda.
    The unanimous voting resulted in Aleksey Isaikin election as Chairman of the Board, Valery Voskoboinikov - as its Deputy. According to Annual Shareholders’ meeting resolution, the Board signed the labour contract with Viktor Mikhailov, Aviastar-SP Director General.
    Aleksey Isaikin gave a speech, thanked the Board members for the confidence and expressed the willingness to represent befittingly and uphold the interests of the Company. Among the basic guiding principles he stressed the following:
        - keeping the balance of interests of the State, shareholders and the Company;
        - development of mutually beneficial relations with counterparts ( customers and suppliers) due to individual approach and customer orientation;
        - support and contribution to state reforms concerning aviation industry in Russia;
The Board together with the Company management map out the implementation of the following:
    1. Drawing up and approval of general development strategy for the next 5 years, including Tu-204 family manufacture expansion, resumption of heavy transport An-124-100 aircraft manufacture, as well as manufacture of different components in the frame of international cooperation;
    2. An-124-100 project implementation preparation, its financing and management company establishment. Optimization of Russia-Ukraine cooperation in the frame of the project.
    3. Investment strategy development and development projects financing;
    4. Conversion of CSC ”Aviastar-SP” into the United Aviation Corporation (UAC).
    5. Coordination of shareholders, Board of Directors and executive bodies actions for strategy implementation..

TU-204-300 HAS PERFORMED ITS MAIDEN FLIGHT FROM VLADIVOSTOK TO MOSCOW

    On 27 June, Tu-204-300 aircraft with serial number 038, operated by “Vladivostok-Avia” airline, carried out its maiden direct flight from Vladivostok to Moscow. It is the first Russian airliner, which was certified in full compliance with Russian aviation rules AR-25 being identical with European ones JAR-25.
    Though the new airliner had been flying during 9 hours without enroute stops for refueling, it saved more than 4 tons of fuel. The aircraft arrived at Vnukovo airport in time. The cabin is equipped with individual entertainment system, providing in-flight film watching, information about the airline and main flight data (altitude, speed, aircraft coordinates). The installed forward view camera transmits the view from the cockpit. In economy class cabin displays are arranged in every other 3 seat rows. These technical innovations allow to make the trip more enjoyable. According to the passengers, many of them “failed to notice how the trip time had flied”. The specialists consider “this flight to be a new page in the history of Russian aviation - the beginning of operation of up-to-date, world competitive Russian-made aircraft produced by Ulyanovsk-based aviation plant” Thus, Russian aviation industry is sure to revive.
    The next day, on 28 June, another Tu-204-300 (serial number 026) made its maiden flight to Moscow. By the end of the year Ulyanovsk-based aviation plant “Aviastar-SP” is to provide the fleet of “Vladivostok-Avia” airline with two more cost-effective, comfortable and promising airliners of this type.
