TU-204-120CE AIRCRAFT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

On the 18th of December Tupolev has successfully completed the Tu-204-120CE aircraft certification program at the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee as it is stated in the facsimile communication from I. Shevchuk, Tupolev President and Chief Designer, addressed to V. Mikhailov, Aviastar-SP General Director. Supplemental Certificate No.ÑÒ233-Òó-204-120ÑÅ/Ä02 to the Type Certificate was issued for the new middle-range Tu-204-120CE cargo aircraft powered with Rolls-Roys engines and provided with flight data display in English.

This Certificate proves that the aircraft is in full conformity with the latest AÏ-25 regulations in the matter of cargo a/c airworthiness. AÏ-25 regulations are a Russian counterpart to European and American a/c airworthiness regulations. Therefore the issue of the Supplemental Certificate is critical to Tu-204-120CE a/c certification under JAR-25 regulations.

The airliner of this type meets all Euro Control requirements indispensable for modern aircraft, including RVSM, B-RNAV and others, and has no restrictions on flights in icing conditions.

Customers of Tu-204-120CE a/c produced at Aviastar-SP, Ulyanovsk-based aircraft factory, are Chinese airlines. It means that aircraft of this type should be certified according to the current Chinese airworthiness regulations. And the issue of the Russian certificate is the final stage before certification of the a/c in China.

For the first time in Russia was certified the aircraft with English cockpit, airborne equipment, Maintenance Manual and British measuring unit system of flight data and equipment, i.e. the completely export-shaped Tu-204. It was generated through the great efforts of Tupolev, Aviastar-SP specialists and workmen, vendor suppliers and all organizations participated in the aircraft certification.
