On September 9, Prime-minister Vladimir V. Putin visited Aviastar-SP where he watched over the process of aircraft production. The head of the government was met by S. Ivanov, Deputy prime-minister, A. Fyodorov, UAC President and V. Mikhailov, Aviastar-SP General Director. They showed aircraft that are currently being produced at the factory and told about computer served process of aircraft production.

V. Putin was accompanied by E. Nabibyllina, the Head of Ministry for Economic Development, and other members of the RF Government. Besides A. Fyodorov from the side of aircraft manufacturers there was M. Pogosian, the Head of Suhoy Co. and from the side of airlines – V. Okulov, Airflot General Director.

Within FAL V. Putin talked with labors and asked about average wages level of production personnel which accounts to 12,334 rubles.

In reply to workers who consider the aircraft industry to be “restored to life” the Head of the Government said that it is still early to argue so, because the annual plan has not yet been accomplished. However, he pointed out that “I hope that we will together solve this problem”.

Then V. Putin held the meeting on civil aircraft industry. It came to discussion of replacement of customs duties with foreign airplanes. The Prime- minister did not support this idea.

A. Fyodorov requested the Head of the Government to finance aircraft factories that was fully approved.
